Pacific Northwest River Bars Map 17.5" X 12"
$45.00 - $75.00
A drawing depicting some of the the river bars of the Pacific Coast of Oregon and Washington.
A river bar is the place where the river current meets the ocean swells, causing standing waves and breakers in the river mouth. The region is known as the Graveyard of the Pacific, where the bars are one cause of thousands of shipwrecks over the past two centuries.
This drawing is a simplified, stylized depiction for use in Tom Crestodina's upcoming Working Boats book. It is intended both as a work of art and as an educational image.
