This is a Detroit Diesel 6V53 drawing. These engines have been used in an incredible multitude of applications, but fishermen know them best as the workhorses that powered hundreds of seine skiffs for two generations. The Detroit Diesel hallmarks are their factory green paint, ease of service, slobbery operation, and, most of all, their deafening noise.
This drawing is to be used in the 2020 "Working Boats" children's book by Sasquatch Books of Seattle. It is available as a 5 1/2" laminated sticker an in a limited edition of signed, numbered prints.
